Living with a disability

My name's Susan,and I've been deaf since I was 3 years old.

Life is a bit diferent for me sometimes. For example, people have to take notes at university for me,people have to make gestures to comunicate with me.

There are one or two thins which annoy me. I can't go to a disco ,for example, people who don't know that I'm deaf, talk to me normally, and it's very uncomfortable.

Women's rights

In the 19 th century,European women couldn't vote. A British woman,Emmeline Pankhursy, and her daughter,Christabel, wanted to change this. They believed that women should have the same rights as men,so they founded a grouped in 1903 to campaign for women's votes. They were the "suffragettes".

Finally, after a big effort, they achieved their objective,British women could vote. In Spain, however, women had to wait until 1931.
